Palm has a many stories to tell and evokes the mystic and the magic of the tropics. It leaves an indelible mark of the exotic and the adventurous. To capture this in a contemporary design motif, we have developed a few distinctive designs that are informed by the cultures and history of India. The design of our C9 Manali panel is informed by the designs and motifs of the various ethnic peoples who inhabit the great Himalayan region.

To capture this in a contemporary design motif, we have developed a few distinctive designs that are informed by the cultures and history of India. The design of our C5 Agra panel is inspired by the designs and motifs of the Taj Mahal that grace the banks of the Yamuna River in this historic and architecturally important city.

The Malabar Coast is a fabled region of South West India with 6,000 years of trade and cultural influence with the Middle East, Europe and Asia. This has made the Malabar Coast a rich cultural weave that is also deeply influenced by the palms that grow in great abundance here. Inspired by this rich history and lush verdant landscape, the Malabar panel imparts a hand-carved feel that brings out the depth and richness of the material. Finished in a hand-rubbed natural oil/wax, this panel echo’s the exotic and mystery of the region.

The history and culture of India offers wonderful reference and inspiration for design. Simla is a colonial era hill station in the foothills of the Himalayas and functioned as the summer capital during British rule. It is today still sprinkled with lovely old wooden cottages from this period and the design we have chosen is reminiscent of the weathered siding and interior paneling of these homes.
